Interactive Planetarium
The Orbiter planetarium
model is a
scientific interactive model representing the relationship between the
earth, sun and moon. It is available as lighted astronomy model (corded or
battery operated), or unlighted model.
This gear-driven planetarium is suggested for use as a beginning model.
A few of the
many concepts that can be effectively demonstrated with this portable desktop
planetarium model are:
- How many days does
it takes the earth to revolve around the sun?
- The reason for the
occurrence of night and day.
- How the earth's revolution around the
sun and the tilt of its axis causes seasons.
- The variation in the length of daylight.
- The movement of the Earth around the sun from west to east.
- Why only
one side of the moon is seen from the Earth.
- How eclipses of the sun and moon
occur.
- Cause of the phases of the moon.
